"Lover Awakened" (book 3 in BDB series)

This is the story of how love can bring a soul back from the brink of insanity and how it can awaken the lover with in.

"Lover Awakened" is the third book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It tells the story of Zadist and Bella. In the first two books you get a small glimpse at Zadist (and Bella), and mostly all you know about him is his aggressive attitude and his violence toward humans and vampires alike. Zadist's story is one of pain and betrayal and learning that life isn't just simply that. For the first hundred years, post transition, he was a blood slave to his mistress, Catronia, in 1802. What was done to him, in him, on him was unthinkable and grotesque. (Refer to page 36 for the Beginning of his story in "Lover Awakened") But then he meets Bella and everything changes. At first he resents her persistence but then...well...you'll just have to read it to find out the rest.

BOOK REVIEW

"Lover Awakened" by J.R. Ward is by far the best in the series. To me, when i first heard of Zadist in the first two books I didn't understand why he was filled with so much hatred but then, after reading this book I fell in love with him. Beneath the scars and the blood slave bands he is a tortured soul. This book touched me because of the severity of his past and not just because I am a girl, it really goes to show that love can heal a soul that is not only broken but destroyed.
